This is sufficient for the first 2 years of testing, or longer for smaller systems.

Once the credit is used up, prices are calculated as follows ¹:

² Since it is very likely that not all identities will have access to all passwords, the amount is likely to be less than the total cost.

All saved encryption is calculated in the current month.

How encryption units are created

Since a secret is individually encrypted for each identity to which it has access, the following calculation results:

Encrypted unit = secrect * number of identities with access.

Calculation examples:

A case example:

The month of January:

• Five identities
• ten secrets
• five deleted secrets

75 encrypted units = 15 secrets * 5 identities

Month of February:

no new identities or secrets have been added:

50 encrypted units = 10 secrets * 5 identities

As you can see, the deleted encryptions are only calculated in the month in which they were deleted.

self Hosting

Es gibt grundsätzlich keinen Grund für Self hosting. Auf foldenden Gründen:

• Da die Secrets bei uns nur verschlüsselt abgespeichert werden und der Schlüssel sich nur in Ihrer Hand befindet.
• Einige sicherheitsregeln sich auf die Vault infrastruktur beziehen.
